MoQuality Test Recorder
(Works for Android only. iOS support coming soon!)
Installation and Setup
Download the MoQuality Recorder for your operating system:
We also encourage you to install the Google Keyboard on the device you will use for recording. You can download the Google Keyboard from the dropdown Menu inside the recorder, under Device Tools.
Connect a device to your computer via USB cable and enable USB Debugging in the Device's settings. Go to Settings > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging
Note: You will receive a pop up to `Authorize Computer`, select `Always Allow`
Start Recording
Connect a device and then login through the downloaded recorder.
To start recording a test:
- After login, select the proper app from the drop-down menu for which you will like to record the test.
- When ready, click on Record to start recording.
- You can change tabs between Actions view and Hierarchy view when the phone is not in a blocking state. Hierarchy view will allow you to explore the UI hierarchy of the current page and view widget's and their properties.
- The seven buttons along the bottom are, in order, Back, Home, Switch App, Keyboard Input, Enter, Snooze, and Assertion. Note: these buttons will be blocked in between recording actions to maintain the accuracy of the actions list.
- When finished with your recording, press Save to finish the recording. Note: It is important that you do not exit the recorder until you receive the green completed check mark.
- You can now login into https://app.moquality.com to view your test.
- You may initiate another recording on the same device by pressing Record again.
Known Issues:
For apps that use keyboards internally, we suggest that you install the Google Keyboard on your device before using it to record tests. You can download and install the Google Keyboard from the dropdown Menu inside the recorder, under Device Tools. You may also disable your keyboard.
Some Samsung devices have an option to set screen resolution. If so, set the highest resolution before using it with the recorder. You can find the option in Settings > Display > Screen Resolution.
